Out of 32 Illinois colleges reporting data,EIU is the most violent campus in Illinois. In fact, the violent crime rate is over 2x higher than 2nd place Loyola University while having an enrollment of 7917 less students. Eastern leads the state in robbery and assault rates as well as having the 2nd highest rape rate while ranking 17th in enrollment.

Rape is up 118.66% over the 5 most recent years of data and 591.14% since 1997,Assault over the 5 most recent years of data is up 31.20% and 93.52% since 1997. Robbery was virtually nonexistent until the last 4 years of data, where it's increased 205.66%.

While this is a parody headline, inspired by a recent post by JG-TC editorial board, data seems to point that EIU enrollment and Charleston crime are tied together.
